Which Ereader Should I Buy, Kindle 3 Or Kindle DX Graphite Ereader?

I know, with the latest launch of latest Amazon Kindle, the question is obvious, which one should you buy; Kindle 3 or Kindle DX Graphite ereader? It is not such a hard choice though, because the differences in terms of size and usage are quite noticeable.

The Kindle 3 has two versions, one with free 3G Wireless, and the other WiFi only. The former allows you to buy books and browse the internet using the free wireless in the United States and few other countries. The WiFi only version is devoid of 3G, which requires one to buy books online through computer and then transfer the same to the Kindle using USB connectivity. One other option is to get inside a WiFi hotspot to browse the Internet or download books.

The major difference between the two ereaders is that Kindle DX has free 3G Wireless but it doesn't have WiFi. It may not be really an issue in the US because most places have the 3G wireless coverage.

Each of the electronic book readers has it's strengths and which one you should buy actually depends on what your own needs are, whether for personal use or a gift and who you are buying it for. I have always been a fan of bigger screen. I find it more convenient to read and use. But when I had close introspection with the 6" version, I understood why Amazon launched a scaled down version of it. It is because they really wanted to make it more handy and personal. The new one really detaches you from the feeling of using a tablet PC, which is the whole point. You end up getting the impression that you are indeed reading a paperback and not an electronic display.

Broadly kindle DX has a 9.7" screen diagonally and costs $379, and the latest version 3 3g has a 6" screen priced as low as $189.

To conclude, I would say if you can afford the price, it would be good to get the larger screen Kindle DX because it is more like a magazine or a journal. But if you are tight on budget and want something handier, the Kindle 3 is your best bait.

The new addition to the technological world are the wireless ebook readers and among them Amazon's kindle e reader is the leading product. There are four highly successful versions available: kindle 1, kindle 2, kindle DX and Kindle 3 with US and international connectivity available now as well.

The thing that I enjoyed most is the screen; it makes the reading experience more than best. The E link technology along with the contrast screen not only makes the reading experience the true pleasure but it is also similar to the one reading from a printed book. This means now there are no more strains on the eyes and no need to carry heavy books with you while traveling.

Should I Buy Kindle DX on Sale Or the Good Old Kindle 2?

Should I buy Kindle DX on sale or the good old kindle 2? If you ask me, I will prefer the New Gen DX. Although to each his/her own, but for me, the 9.7 inch screen as opposed to the 6 inch one on the K2 is the prime most deciding factor. And secondly the native PDF format support with the new reader.

The screen size matters like hell. Next question to ask, Am I losing any feature in the pricey one? Nothing at all except for one thing, the new keyboard is smaller than last time, obviously to allocate more space to the screen size. You just need to get used to the new layout, that's all. If you are going to use a kindle for the first time, then it's a breeze. But if you are upgrading, then you will have to give yourself a few days. Ok so what's more? The screen is bigger, sharper and has a higher resolution. The pixel density of K2 is supposed to be 166 ppi vs the DX's 150. But surprisingly the text is displayed sharper and crisper with 16 shades of gray. The e-link screen reads like a real newspaper.

The built in In PDF Reader now allows you to carry and read all your personal and professional documents on the go. There's no more need to mail back and forth like in K2, anymore.

The new one is just 1/3 inches thick like a magazine. It is slightly heavier, but for me it acts to the advantage, because it gives a better tactile feel of holding a real hardbound book now. With 3,500 books, periodicals, and document storage capacity you are can load a library full of stuff on it. Now comes the exciting one, the DX took a tip or two from Apple and has incorporated the auto-rotate feature, which is completely missing in the last generation Kindle2. The display screen can now auto rotate from portrait to landscape as you turn the device, so you can view full-width maps, graphs, tables, and web pages. Wireless connectivity and delivery via whispernet is the same. Free access 24/7. Kindle store will woo you with 390,000 books, newspapers, magazines, and blogs, best sellers and etc. Battery life is one of the best in mobile gadgets. Text to speech function, Wikipedia still holds true. It has become all the more easier to access Google maps, weather reports because of the size and sharp rendering.

If you have read this far, then probably you have made up your mind by now. What are the cons? Well it's a pricey pleasure; you can straight away save $200 dollars if you chose to buy good old kindle 2. But if you love to read, then compromising on the 9.7 inch auto rotating screen could later be regretful while you have the option now. But if you can afford $499, DX is a better choice in every respect. And from my experience I can tell you, you will get a resell value of about 50% after 2 years on this Amazon product, thus reducing the net cost to $249. That's a big deal after all.

With Pixel Qi, Apple tablet and the Sony eBook reader still in evolution, this is the best option we have. Kudos to Amazon.

If saving $200 is your priority over 3 inch larger screen size and PDF readability, then definitely you should go for Kindle 2 for Sale.
